Awaking the inner Morphy

Ranking List for the second month have been released as of March 1^st with one list for juniors (U18s) and one for adults.

There have been some dramatic changes.

In the junior list, the two leaders Praneeta Karjodkar and Sebastian M-Garcia have scored their first norms for the prestigious top club player trophy and certificate by passing the 1650 Rank.  Another norm will earn the title.  Rapid progress has also been shown by Hari and George Chowdhury, Aditya Sanyal, Ava Rahmani and Natalie Weaver.

In the adult section, Julian Way has burst on the scene in the number 2 position, thus also gaining his first top club player norm.  There is also impressive progress by Chris Southall and Jo Hutchinson.

Our photo shows this month’s fastest junior riser, Sebastian Mokhber-Garcia.  In the background we can see many of his chess trophies and also his first Invisible Army (Cadet Force) Certificate.

Cadet Force Certificates

This month’s certificates were issued to players who had attained 1000 points in ranking (junior certificate), 1200 points (intermediate certificate) and 1400 points (advanced certificate).  The last column shows which players received certificates based on the February list:  A stands for advanced certificates, I stands for intermediate certificates and J stands for junior certificates.
