Many of you are now aware that on Wednesday afternoons, between 1pm-2pm (in UK) Mike Basman now livestreams a chess lesson onto our Twitch account. On Wednesday afternoons these livestreams are uploaded to our YouTube account. You can watch our most recent livestream below:
In the first half of each livestream (approximately half an hour) Mr Basman gives a chess lesson. This week he went through the first half of a chess game between Morphy and Hampton, to be continued next week. In the second half of the lesson Mike Basman plays two opponents on chess.com in 10 minute matches.
The openings he plays may be unfamiliar to those of you versed in more traditional openings, but the games are very entertaining to watch. Whilst he plays, Mr Basman talks the viewers through some of his ideas, some of his opponents ideas, and his hopes and dreads in the position! We hope that you can pick up some tricks from watching him play these unusual attacks.
If you haven’t had a chance to browse yet, please have a look around. We are also hoping to upload more videos, so if you would like to request a topic please let us know in the comments. Let us know what you think about these lessons, and share them with your friends.
If you would like to be involved in these livestreams so you can comment and ask questions, but the timing doesn’t currently work for you, don’t worry because we hope to add further chess lessons and livestreams in the future and we will see you then!
